The second annual TAC Hiking Weekend will be held over the weekend of 1-3 April 2022.
Join the group of keen hikers at TAC to immerse yourself in the extraordinary natural beauty of Australia's highest mountains: glacial lakes, unique flora and fauna, and spectacular terrain punctuated by towering granite outcrops.

Day 1 - Saturday 1 April
Thredbo to Ramshead Peak rtn
Highlights: Reflection pools, granite tors, seasonal wildflowers
15 km mostly undulating
Grade 4
​
The Ramshead Peak walk is an off track adventure through stunning granite boulders and tussock grasslands. The walk begins with a gentle 2 kilometres to the Kosciuszko lookout. From here, the group leaves the main path and heads up onto the Ramshead Range. Some highlights of this walk include summiting Ramshead North, and seeing the headwaters of Merritt's creek that then plunges down into the Thredbo Valley.

Approx 10km
Grade 2-3

Depending on the track status, the Sunday walk will take one of the many walk options in Thredbo Valley. This will be the group's choice as to what is most suitable on the day.
